Vikings pull Hall, sub in Mullens after halftime of pivotal Packers tilt
The Minnesota Vikings switched quarterbacks at halftime of their crucial Week 17 game against the Green Bay Packers, subbing in Nick Mullens for an ineffective Jaren Hall.
Hall was making his second start of the season, with his first coming in November against the Atlanta Falcons. He attempted only six passes versus Atlanta before exiting due to injury.
Mullens started in Weeks 15 and 16 but was relegated back to the bench after throwing six interceptions across those two outings. Mullens, though, tossed for over 700 yards in those two games combined.
Hall, the Vikings' fifth-round pick in 2023, went 5-for-10 with 67 yards and a pick in the first half against Green Bay. The Vikings entered the night needing to win their final two games to have a shot at the playoffs.
Minnesota has shuffled through a revolving door of quarterbacks following Kirk Cousins' season-ending Achilles injury. Hall, Mullens, and Joshua Dobbs have all started multiple games.
