Bucs' Evans: Winfield not making Pro Bowl biggest snub I've seen in my career
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans criticized voters for not putting his teammate Antoine Winfield Jr. in the 2024 Pro Bowl.
"A lot of guys get snubbed, but that was probably the biggest one during my time in the league," Evans told reporters Thursday.
Antoine's father expressed his frustration on Instagram with his son being left out of the Pro Bowl.
Julian Love, Budda Baker, and Jessie Bates were the three safeties selected in the NFC. Winfield has more tackles, sacks, passes defended, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries than Baker and Love.
The Minnesota product was voted into the Pro Bowl in 2021, his only selection since entering the league in 2020.
Winfield is on pace to have the best season of his career. The 25-year-old is the first player since 1994 to record 100-plus tackles, five-plus sacks, five-plus forced fumbles, and 10-plus passes defended in a single campaign. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year opens in March.
