$24K can't buy 49ers' Asomugha jersey number from teammate
Veteran cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha wanted his familiar No. 24 on his new San Francisco 49ers jersey, however his teammate Anthony Dixon wasn't interested in giving it up.
Despite the generous offer of $24,000 to swap, Dixon couldn't justifying parting with the jersey number he earned as rookie when he arrived in 2010.
"I worked hard to get that number when I first got here," Dixon told CSNBayArea.com. "I worked hard to get it off somebody else. I've been No. 24 since high school and college."
Asomugha wore No. 24 during his two years in Philadelphia and was permitted to wear the number along with Dixon during training camp due to the expanded roster size.
