Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco said Buffalo Bills defensve back Damar Hamlin should be awarded Comeback Player of the Year.

"Most of the guys on that list, I'm not sure what we're coming back from. … I'm just coming back from what? Being old and not being on a team for a couple months?" Flacco said Friday on the "Zach Gelb Show."

Flacco and Hamlin were both named finalists for the award alongside Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford, and Tua Tagovailoa.

Although Flacco doesn't believe he's worthy of winning the award, he did share his appreciation for being named a finalist.

"Anytime you're getting recognized in this league for playing well, it's flattering. It's a cool group to be a part of, that's for sure," he said.

Hamlin was active for seven games this past season, including two playoff contests. In 2022, he was revived on the field after going into cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Pitt product was hospitalized for nine days after the incident.

Flacco provided a spark to the Browns late in the season after signing with the club in December. He passed for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, sporting a 90.2 passer rating in five games. Cleveland clinched a playoff spot behind the veteran passer's spirited production in his 16th season.
