Ravens' Harbaugh: 'Nobody better' than Lamar despite playoff exit

Despite the Ravens and Lamar Jackson coming off another disappointing playoff run, head coach John Harbaugh expressed confidence that the star quarterback is the man to get Baltimore another championship.

"Lamar Jackson is a phenomenal success ... In my opinion, there's nobody better in this league, especially nobody better for the Baltimore Ravens," Harbaugh said.

He added: "I'm excited about the future. I'm excited about taking this offense to the next level next year."

Jackson is likely to earn his second career MVP award at the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 8. But despite his outstanding regular-season play, the passer once again struggled to hit those heights in the AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 27-year-old had a season-worst completion percentage (54.1), tied his most sacks taken (four), and produced his third-worst passer rating against the Chiefs.

Jackson has finished with a sub-80 passer rating in five of his six postseason games, with the exception coming in a clinical performance in the divisional-round win against the Houston Texans this season. He averages a 98.0 passer rating during the regular season.

After guiding what appeared to be the best Ravens team of the Jackson era to an NFL-best 13-4 record, Harbaugh said he's taken the loss to the Chiefs hard.

"I'm heartbroken with the fact that we didn't win that game at home, in front of our crowd for the first time in all these years," Harbaugh said.
