Love: 'Perfect time' for Packers to make Super Bowl run
Jordan Love believes the Green Bay Packers are primed to turn their surprising playoff run last season into a genuine title challenge in 2024.
"We're all very hungry for this upcoming year," Love said on "The Pivot Podcast" on Friday. "The confidence from top to bottom is there. The organization believes that it's the perfect time to have a chance to win a Super Bowl this year. And those conversations we had after the 49ers game were, man, work harder. Try and find ways to get better because next year, we're gonna do it."
Green Bay appeared to be on course to miss out on the postseason after a 3-6 start to the campaign. But Love and the offense caught fire in the second half of the year, winning six of the team's last eight games to earn a wild-card spot.
The Packers then took down the Dallas Cowboys in dominant fashion in the wild-card round. They had the eventual NFC champion San Francisco 49ers on the ropes in the divisional round before a last-minute touchdown drive by Brock Purdy and a second defeat-sealing interception from Love.
In his first season as a starter, Love showcased All-Pro potential during the Packers' strong finish to 2023, completing 70.25% of his passes for 2,150 yards and 18 touchdowns against just one interception.
Green Bay signaled its intent to challenge for a Super Bowl with big moves in free agency, signing running back Josh Jacobs and safety Xavier McKinney.
