Aiyuk's agent refutes report WR wants trade from 49ers
All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's agent denied a report that his client requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers.
Aiyuk's future has been subject to speculation since San Francisco lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February. However, the 49ers have consistently said the wideout isn't available and that they intend to sign him to an extension.
"I'm trying to get what I deserve," the 26-year-old said in late March regarding contract talks.
Aiyuk - who has one year left on his rookie deal - earned his first second-team All-Pro nomination in 2023 after producing a career-high 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
The 49ers' offense contains some of the highest-paid players at their respective positions, including left tackle Trent Williams, running back Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle, and receiver Deebo Samuel.
San Francisco has the second-least cap space in the NFL with just over $7 million, according to Spotrac.
