Report: Chargers sign Chark to 1-year deal worth up to $5M
The Los Angeles Chargers are signing wide receiver DJ Chark to a one-year contract that's worth up to $5 million, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 27-year-old joins the Chargers after taking a free-agent visit to the team's facility last month, per Rapoport.
Chark spent the 2023 season with the Carolina Panthers. He recorded 35 receptions for 525 yards and five touchdowns.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver spent one season with the Detroit Lions after being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018, where he spent his first four campaigns.
Chark's most productive campaign occurred during the 2019 season when he hauled in 73 catches for 1,008 yards and eight scores, earning a spot on the Pro Bowl roster.
Chark provides a veteran presence to Los Angeles' receiver room following the offseason departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. The LSU product will headline a young position group that features holdovers Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer, as well as rookies Ladd McConkey, Brenden Rice, and Cornelius Johnson.
