Report: Valdes-Scantling to visit Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers will host free-agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, a source told The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov.
The 29-year-old wideout was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in February. Valdes-Scantling recorded 63 catches for 1,002 yards and three touchdowns over two seasons with the Chiefs. He hauled in three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Prior to winning two Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling was a member of the Green Bay Packers from 2018-2021.
The Chargers have a young group of wideouts that includes Quentin Johnston, Joshua Palmer, and rookie Ladd McConkey. Veteran DJ Chark signed with the club earlier this week.
L.A. has restructured its receiving corps after seeing Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Jalen Guyton exit this offseason.
