Troy Polamalu to get a haircut for veterans
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is a big supporter of veterans. Recently, he starred in Veterans of Foreign Wars' "United for Veterans" campaign.
Polamalu will soon take his support for veterans up a notch... sort of.
Polamalu pledged to cut 10 inches off his long, famous locks at a November event to raise money for veterans.
In a Facebook post Thursday, he backed off that promise. Instead, Polamalu says he will get a "ceremonial haircut" (whatever that means) at the event.
Polamalu's hair is very important to him, as it's closely tied to his Samoan heritage. Heck, he cares so deeply about his famous curls that he had them insured for $1 million.
It's a great gesture for Polamalu to cut his hair, even if it's just a trim, to support veterans.
