CHI 40, PIT 23: Bears' defense scores twice as Steelers fall to 0-3
The Chicago Bears scored two defensive touchdowns and improved to 3-0, beating the Steelers 40-23 and handing Pittsburgh its third straight loss. Here's what you need to know:
- Turnovers were the difference as the Bears forced five -- returning two for touchdowns -- and committed none. They scored 23 points off of the turnovers
- The Steelers start the season 0-3 for the first time since 2000
- Major Wright returned an interception for a touchdown, it's the third straight season he's had a pick six and he also forced a fumble
- Julius Peppers returned a fumble for a touchdown. It was the fourth defensive touchdown of his career
- Ben Roethlisberger passed for over 400 yards in the loss but also committed four turnovers (two interceptions, two lost fumbles)
- Antonio Brown had a massive game for the Steeelrs with nine catches for a career-high 196 yards and two touchdowns, including a beautiful TD grab in the third quarter (you can find the GIF below)
- Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton was carted off the field with a left knee injury and did not return
- The Steelers had better be ready to travel, they play their next game in London, England against the Vikings in a matchup of 0-3 teams
- Heath Miller returned for Pittsburgh after missing the first two games of the season. He caught three passes for 35 yards
- Mark Trestman joins Neil Armstrong and George Halas as the only head coaches to win their first three games with the Bears
