Rams' Kupp excited to 'feel healthy' amid full offseason workload
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is thrilled with where he's at heading into the 2024 season.
"I feel good. We got a lot of good work in this offseason," Kupp said on "GMFB Overtime," per Nick Shook of NFL Network.
"The best thing about this last year was just being able to feel healthy and have a full offseason of work, not just for myself in terms of working out and building my body back up but also having that time with Matthew (Stafford), being able to get on the field and work through things together."
Kupp began last season on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in training camp. He ultimately played in 12 contests, totaling 737 yards and five touchdowns. Kupp only hauled in 59 receptions on 92 targets, the lowest catch percentage of his career, per Pro Football Reference.
Puka Nacua outshined the 31-year-old last campaign. The fifth-round selection took the league by storm, ranking fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (1,486) and tied for sixth in targets (160). Nacua recently described Kupp as his "big brother," according to Shook.
"It's been really cool - Puka's been great - it's really cool for him to say that, and I'm obviously very much appreciate that," Kupp said.
He added, "I just can't get rid of the guy - he shows up to my house, he jumps in, I make him throw up, he still comes back. He comes over for dinner, I've got veggies all over his plate, he still comes back. He's resilient, this one."
Kupp signed a three-year, $80.1-million extension in 2022. He's under contract through the 2026 season and will have a $29-million-plus cap hit in each of the next three seasons, per Over the Cap.
The Eastern Washington product has 7,066 receiving yards and 51 touchdowns in 92 career contests.
