Titans' starting guard Charles retires after 4 seasons
Tennessee Titans guard Saahdiq Charles retired after four NFL seasons, the team announced Tuesday.
Charles was listed as the starting right guard on Tennesee's depth chart Monday and was getting first-team reps early in training camp. However, he missed recent practices for what coach Brian Callahan said were "personal reasons."
The 25-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Titans in free agency. He spent the last four seasons with the Washington Commanders and started 10 games for the club in 2023.
Daniel Brunskill, who served as Tennessee's starting right guard last season, was listed as the team's No. 1 center on Monday's depth chart. The Titans also roster Dillon Radunz, Lachavious Simmons, and Andrew Rupcich at guard alongside 2023 first-round pick Peter Skoronski.
Tennessee has ranked outside the top 20 in sacks allowed per game in each of the last three campaigns.
