San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams will remain unavailable until his contract is reworked, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Williams didn't report for the start of training camp and has stayed away from the team as he seeks a revised contract. He has no guaranteed salary and has three years remaining on the six-year, $138-million contract he signed in 2021.

Fellow offensive tackles Tristan Wirfs, Penei Sewell, Laremy Tunsil, and Christian Darrisaw all recently signed contract extensions worth more than Williams' annual average salary of $23 million, according to Over The Cap.

Williams, 36, earned his third straight first-team All-Pro nod in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound lineman has anchored the Niners' offensive line over the past four seasons, helping fellow stars Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy find significant production. Williams has racked up 11 Pro Bowl nods over his illustrious career.

Niners general manager John Lynch is attempting to strike deals with Williams and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has been staging a hold-in while attempting to land an extension or trade.
