Quarterback Joe Burrow isn't sweating the Cincinnati Bengals beginning the season 0-2 for the fifth time in six years.

"We're not panicking by any means," Burrow said Wednesday on "The Rich Eisen Show."

"There's a lot of football to be played but lots of room to improve at the same time. Just like any game every year. We're just looking to improve every day, go out on Monday, and have our best game yet."

The Bengals narrowly lost to the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs last weekend despite Burrow appearing to recapture his top form before suffering a season-ending wrist injury in 2023. The star QB said Wednesday that there's an adjustment period when returning from such a lengthy ailment but that he's healthy.

"I feel great. I feel good with where we're at, too," Burrow said. "We played well on Sunday, just not well enough to win the game. We didn't make plays down the stretch to close it out. I feel good, feeling better every week."

The 2022 Pro Bowler completed 23 of 36 pass attempts for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and a 103.7 quarterback rating versus the Chiefs. Burrow's performance improved from his previous outing when he mustered 164 yards and zero touchdowns in a surprising loss to the New England Patriots at home.

Burrow spread the ball around without receiver Tee Higgins, completing passes to eight different targets Sunday. The Bengals tight end trio of Mike Gesicki, Erick All, and Drew Sample accounted for 14 catches and 151 yards.

Burrows added that he's happy with his improvement from Week 1 but still sees areas in his game to work on.

"I'm striving for perfection. If you make little increments toward that goal, it's a recipe for success," Burrow said.

The Bengals will attempt to earn their first win of the season Monday when they host the Washington Commanders.
