The Pittsburgh Steelers announced tackle Troy Fautanu will miss Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a knee injury, and sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter the rookie lineman will be out indefinitely.

Fautanu got hurt in practice Friday, and the severity of the injury is unknown to this point.

Broderick Jones is projected to start the Steelers' Week 3 matchup with Fautanu out. Fautanu replaced Jones in last week's victory over the Denver Broncos after the latter committed three penalties on a single drive.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said earlier this week he intends to rotate between the two young tackles.

Pittsburgh is already missing center Nate Herbig and guard Isaac Seumalo, who are both hurt. Fautanu was also sidelined during the preseason due to an MCL sprain.

The Steelers drafted Fautanu 20th overall out of Washington this past spring.

Both the Steelers and Chargers are 2-0 heading into Sunday's clash.
