The NFL intends to award the 2028 Super Bowl to Atlanta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of the Falcons, according to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal.

The decision is reportedly expected to become official when NFL owners meet next month to vote.

It'll be the second Super Bowl to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium after the 2019 Big Game. The New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams on the occasion.

Opened in 2017, Mercedes-Benz Stadium will also host the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship and multiple matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The venue is traditionally the home of the SEC Championship Game.

Atlanta hosted the Super Bowl in 1994 and 2000 at Georgia Dome, the Falcons' old home.

The league has now decided the venues that will host the next four Super Bowls.

Year Venue Team
2025 Caesars Superdome NO
2026 Levi's Stadium SF
