Report: Browns to open Chubb's practice window
The Cleveland Browns plan to open running back Nick Chubb's practice window Wednesday as he ramps up his return from a season-ending knee injury suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Once he returns to practice, the Browns will have three weeks to activate Chubb to the main roster. However, the star running back isn't expected to play in Week 5, Rapoport adds.
Chubb tore his ACL in addition to suffering other knee damage during a matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 last season.
Cleveland's been leaning on Jerome Ford this season with Chubb still sidelined. Ford's averaging 5.0 yards per carry with 145 yards on 29 carries across three games.
Chubb's rushed for 6,511 yards across six seasons and is a four-time Pro Bowler.
