Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix had a first half to forget during Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Coming off the best start of his young NFL career, Nix completed just seven of 15 pass attempts for minus-7 yards through the first two quarters against the Jets.

Nix is only the fourth QB to finish a half with negative passing yards since 2000, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini, who adds that the Broncos' first-rounder is the only one of those signal-callers to complete more than one pass in those games.

He also had one carry for seven yards.

The Broncos' offense improved in the second half, though, and Nix led a touchdown drive in the third quarter to help Denver upset New York 10-9. The 24-year-old finished the day with 12 completions on 25 attempts for 60 yards and one touchdown pass.

Nix's rookie campaign has been a roller coaster, as the No. 12 pick had yet to throw a touchdown before Week 4 and had been intercepted four times.

However, Nix did have a promising Week 3, completing 25 of 36 attempts for 216 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown to help Denver beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
