Texans' Diggs trying to 'block out the noise' before playing former team

Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs is trying to remain focused ahead of Sunday's matchup against his former team, the Buffalo Bills.

"Block out the noise," Diggs said Wednesday, according to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.

"A lot of other people are going to feel away or have a lot to say about X, Y, Z, and I don't mind. I'm not mad at it. Just trying to go 1-0. Obviously, they're a good team. They have a lot of guys that can fly around on the defense. But they're a really good team. So, I look forward to it."

Diggs spent four seasons with the Bills after being acquired from the Minnesota Vikings in 2020. He exceeded 1,150 yards in every campaign during his Buffalo tenure, racking up 445 catches for 5,372 yards with 37 touchdowns. Diggs sits fourth all-time in Bills history in receiving touchdowns, receptions, and receiving yards.

The 30-year-old has settled in with his new team, ranking second on the Texans in targets, catches, and yards behind Nico Collins in all three categories.

"(Diggs) has helped me out a ton. As you can see, we're clicking more and more. He's finally having fun playing the game," Texans signal-caller C.J. Stroud said, per Getzenberg.

Diggs, a two-time All-Pro, said he's happy with his new team and believes things are going smoothly.

"It's easy to get a bad rap. Word travels fast, but when you get to a place, and people get to know you, they kind of get to gauge you for their own personal and their interaction with you," Diggs said.

"And things usually turn the corner when I get somewhere else. There's usually smiles and a lot of positive stuff. I just take it with a grain of salt. I got big shoulders."

Buffalo's offense has adjusted well to life without Diggs, ranking second in EPA/play and points per game through four contests.
