Titans' Hopkins amid trade rumors: 'I love where I am'
Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is content in Tennessee .
When questioned about the trade rumors surrounding him ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, Hopkins expressed surprise and made it clear that he enjoys playing for the Titans.
"My name has been out there?" What are they saying?" Hopkins said, according to Jim Wyatt of the team website.
He added: "I don't really have social media. ... I love my life. I love where I am. God put me where I need to be, and He always will. I play football."
The 32-year-old is in the final season of a two-year, $26-million contract he signed with the Titans in 2023. If a team trades for the veteran wideout, it will be on the hook for $6.4 million against the cap in 2024, according to Spotrac.
Hopkins is off to a slow start this campaign. He's hauled in only 14 receptions for 175 yards and one touchdown through five contests. Tennessee's passing offense is among the worst in the league, ranking 31st in yards through the air per game and 32nd in EPA/dropback.
"It's a long season. I've been in the league for a while," Hopkins said. "I've seen a lot of crazy things happen. I've been to the playoffs on nine-, eight-win teams. I've seen eight-win teams go further in the playoffs than 11-win teams.
"I don't have that mindset of one game changes the dynamic. I'm going to play and go out there and do what I'm supposed to do."
The three-time First-Team All-Pro has 12,530 receiving yards and 79 touchdowns in 167 career contests.
The Titans are 1-4 heading into their Week 7 contest against the Buffalo Bills.
