Jaguars' Etienne trending toward returning vs. Eagles
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said he "feels good" about the possibility that running back Travis Etienne Jr. will return Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Etienne missed the Jaguars' past two games with a hamstring injury. A nagging shoulder injury was also bothering the 25-year-old prior to his absence.
The 2021 first-round pick rushed for 1,000 yards in two of his first three seasons in the league. Etienne has averaged 4.1 yards per carry and recorded two touchdowns through six games this season.
Tank Bigsby has led Jacksonville's rushing attack, tallying 493 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. He posted a season-high 118 yards to go along with two touchdowns in the Jaguars' Week 7 win over the New England Patriots.
Rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr.'s status remains unclear after he left the second half of last week's game against the Green Bay Packers with a chest injury. Thomas is day-to-day, but there's a chance that he could play against the Eagles, Pederson said Monday, per ESPN's Michael DiRocco.
