Report: Bucs' Evans to return vs. Giants after 3-game absence
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is planning to make his return Sunday against the New York Giants, according to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.
Evans has missed the last three games due to a hamstring injury.
The five-time Pro Bowler returned to the practice field for the first time since aggravating the ailment last month against the Baltimore Ravens.
Evans was spotted at a bonus practice session Monday. He said he could've pushed his rehab to be available for the Bucs' game against the San Francisco 49ers but added that he's always targeted this weekend, per ESPN's Jenna Laine.
Evans' return would provide a significant boost for Tampa Bay's offense, which is without fellow wideout Chris Godwin for the remainder of the season. Cade Otton, Sterling Shepard, and Trey Palmer have been among a group of pass-catchers who've stepped up in Evans' absence.
Evans has posted over 1,000 yards in each of his previous 10 campaigns. He leads the Bucs with six TDs while totaling 335 yards on 26 receptions in seven games this season.
Tampa Bay will look to halt a four-game losing skid against the Giants.
