Report: Chiefs' Humphries expected to start vs. Chargers
D.J. Humphries is expected to be the Kansas City Chiefs' starting left tackle Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Humphries signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs a few weeks ago after being released by the Arizona Cardinals in March. He is recovered from a torn ACL sustained late last season and has spent the previous two weeks getting familiar with Kansas City's offensive system, Schefter adds.
The 30-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2015 draft. He started 98 games during his eight seasons in Arizona, securing one Pro Bowl honor during that stretch.
Humphries will be the third different player to start at left tackle for the Chiefs this season. Rookie second-round pick Kingsley Suamataia started the first two games of the year but was replaced by Wanya Morris.
The 24-year-old Morris was benched during last week's victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Andy Reid moved guard Joe Thuney over to left tackle to finish the contest.
Morris and Suamataia have allowed eight sacks and 46 pressures combined this season, according to PFF.
