Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is scheduled to have season-ending knee surgery, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jones also added that Overshown's return timeline is uncertain and he could be targeting a 2026 return, adds Rapoport.

The second-year defender tore the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.

The rising star appeared to sustain the injury after getting caught in a pileup during a two-yard run in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Overshown remained on the field, unable to move his right leg, and was eventually helped off the field by the team's medical personnel.

Several Dallas players were emotional after seeing Overshown go down.

"I cried," star linebacker Micah Parsons said, according to Archer. "It's like my little bro, bro. He doesn't deserve that, either. He really don't. Just to understand what he's going to go through and to be there for him physically, mentally. It's just so challenging because of the year he was having."

Overshown leads the team with eight tackles for loss and is second on the Cowboys with 90 tackles and five sacks.

The 2023 third-round pick missed his rookie campaign after tearing his ACL in a preseason tilt against the Seattle Seahawks.

Overshown is expected to become Dallas' 13th player to be placed on injured reserve this season, joining fellow starters Dak Prescott and Zack Martin.
