NBA legends Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady were among the names of 10 limited partners confirmed to a Buffalo Bills minority ownership group, the team announced Tuesday.
Jozy Altidore, a former US men's national team soccer player and MLS champion, is also part of the group.
"It's a huge honor to join this historic Bills organization," Carter said in a statement. "I'm truly thankful the Pegula family has given me the opportunity to help the franchise continue to grow and thrive in player growth, community service and of course winning the Lombardi trophy. See you soon Bills Mafia!"
This marks the first time in franchise history the team has added minority owners. Terry and Kim Pegula have owned the Bills since they purchased the club following the death of Ralph Wilson in 2014.
The Pegulas will retain 79% control of the team, according to Rob Maadi of The Associated Press.
"They all have all achieved high levels of success in their respective industries and we're grateful for their interest in our team, our sport, and the future of the Buffalo Bills," owner Terry Pegula said.
"Most of them have a personal attachment with our team - Western New York or Southern Ontario - which was a very important factor to me."
Rob Palumbo, Sue McCollum, Thereisa Gouw, Rob Ward, Mike Joo, and Tom Burger, and private equity firm Arctos are the other members of the minority ownership group.
