Ravens excuse Diontae Johnson from team activities
The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday that they excused wide receiver Diontae Johnson from team activities ahead of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Johnson missed Sunday's win against the New York Giants while serving a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team after he refused to enter a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 2021 Pro Bowl wideout hasn't made much of an impact since the Ravens acquired him from the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 29. Johnson recorded 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games with the Panthers before posting one catch on five targets in five contests with Baltimore.
Johnson's production is far from what he put up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Toledo product racked up 391 catches, 4,363 yards, and 25 touchdowns from 2019-23.
Despite losing Johnson, quarterback Lamar Jackson has plenty of options to throw to. Nelson Agholor, Devontez Walker, and Isaiah Likely have received targets this season behind stalwarts like Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews, and Rashod Bateman.
