Jets' Adams: I would 'never' play for Bears

Davante Adams no longer plays for the Green Bay Packers, but that doesn't mean he's softened his opinion of the Chicago Bears.

The New York Jets wide receiver gave a blunt response when asked Tuesday on "Up & Adams" with Kay Adams if he would ever play for his former division rival.

"No. Never," Adams replied.

He added, "Look, I'm not playing too much longer as it is, so on my last days in this league, after all I've been blessed with, I will not be going to Chicago. Like I said, I respect everyone I play, but I'm not playing for the Bears, no."

Adams, 31, also discussed the Packers-Bears rivalry during his appearance, saying he and his teammates never worried about facing Chicago during his time in Green Bay.

"Back in the day, being a Packer playing the Bears, we didn't go into that game ever worrying about, 'Are we gonna win the game?' We were thinking about how crazy we were gonna go in the game," he said. "Like, can I set a record? Can I score twice? It was that type of feel.

"Not to be disrespectful, it's just naturally as a Packer, you hate the Bears. And we have respect for every team we play, but you just don't respect them to the level of, you know, they're a top-tier team that can compete with us."

Adams spent the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Packers after being selected by the team in the second round of the 2014 draft. He then spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders before being traded to the Jets in October and reuniting with former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers.
