Cowboys' Lamb done for season due to shoulder injury
The 2024 season has come to an abrupt end for CeeDee Lamb.
The Dallas Cowboys are shutting down the star wide receiver for the team's final two games of the season due to a shoulder injury.
"Additional examinations and scans this week on CeeDee Lamb's shoulder have determined that his injury has now progressed to a point that he will be listed as 'Out' for the remaining two games," the team said in a statement obtained by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Although Lamb isn't expected to require surgery, he will undergo treatment and rehab. The 25-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.
The three-time Pro Bowl wideout has been playing through a sprained AC joint that he initially aggravated during a Nov. 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Dallas was eliminated from playoff contention last weekend. The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles on the road Sunday before wrapping up their campaign at home against the Washington Commanders.
Lamb becomes the latest Dallas starter to be sidelined before the end of the year. Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs, and DeMarvion Overshown are among several Cowboys who have seen their 2024 campaigns halted due to injuries.
Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Jonathan Mingo are in line to see more targets in Lamb's absence.
Lamb concluded his fifth season with the Cowboys by leading the club in virtually every statistical metric with 101 receptions, 1,194 yards, and six touchdowns.
The 2023 first-team All-Pro wideout signed a four-year, $136-million extension in August.
