Star running back Ashton Jeanty said it would be a dream come true to be selected by Dallas in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"I would love to play for the Cowboys," Jeanty said in an interview, according to Pat Doney of NBC DFW. "I used to play in their practice stadium and all our home games in high school. Even my freshman year, when we came down here for the Frisco Bowl, we practiced in there again."

Jeanty attended Lone Star High School, about an hour from AT&T Stadium, and said playing at the famed field "would just feel like I'm at home."

The 21-year-old is expected to be the first running back off the board after a tremendous junior year at Boise State. He rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 scores in 2024 - just 27 yards shy of Barry Sanders' single-season college record - and helped the 12-1 Broncos reach the College Football Playoff.

Dallas, meanwhile, holds the 12th pick in the upcoming draft following a 7-10 record and third-place finish in the NFC East. Its offense ranked 21st in points per game, the first time the club finished outside the top 20 since 2018.

The Cowboys struggled to establish a ground attack, ending the season 28th in EPA/rush and 27th in rushing yards. Their leading rusher in 2024, Rico Dowdle, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

"I ain't gonna say too much but Dallas, they've always had a good running back," Jeanty said. "And when they have a good running back, they play a lot better."
