NE 30, NO 27: Patriots hand Saints first loss of the season
The New Orleans Saints are no longer undefeated following their 30-27 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Here's what you need to know:
- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady connected with wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins with five seconds remaining in the fourth to give the team a 29-27 lead. Unfortunately, nearly half of Gillette Stadium missed the play:

- Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was held without a catch for the first time since Oct. 31, 2010 and left the game with a possible ankle injury
- Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola left the game with a head injury after he was on the receiving end of a helmet-to-helmet hit by Saints safety Rafael Bush
- The Patriots also lost starting right guard Dan Connolly to a head injury and cornerback Aqib Talib to a hip injury
- Bill Belchick now holds sole possession of 5th place on the NFL's all-time wins list for head coaches
- Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski scored his ninth career 50+ field goal, breaking Adam Vinatieri's franchise record
