The Los Angeles Chargers are signing defensive back Elijah Molden to a three-year extension, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The deal is worth $18.25 million with $13.5 million in guarantees, according to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. Molden was set to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

Molden was acquired from the Tennessee Titans in August for a 2026 seventh-round pick. He primarily played safety for the Chargers last season.

The 26-year-old played in 15 games in 2024, 12 of which were starts, and totalled 75 tackles, seven pass deflections, and three interceptions. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve in late December after suffering a broken fibula.

The Chargers' defense ranked seventh in passing yards last season and second in points allowed.

Molden has 215 tackles and five interceptions in 48 career games.
