NFL salary cap rising to $279.2M

The NFL and NFLPA agreed to a $279.2-million salary cap for 2025, the league announced Thursday.
That represents a 9.3% increase from last year's $255.4-million figure.
Total player costs, including benefits, are projected to be roughly $11.6 billion league-wide, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The league previously informed teams that the cap would fall between $277.5 million and $281.5 million.
The NFL salary cap has increased by $159 million since 2011, according to Spotrac.
Top players set to negotiate new contracts on the free-agent market this offseason include Tee Higgins, Trey Smith, and Sam Darnold, among others.
