Report: Vikings discussed potential deal with Tannehill
The Minnesota Vikings have discussed a potential deal with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, sources told Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.
Talks are ongoing, and an agreement isn't imminent, Schultz reported.
Tannehill, 36, last played for the Tennessee Titans during the 2023 season and didn't sign with a team in 2024. He's recorded 34,881 passing yards, 216 touchdowns, and a 64.3% completion rate across 11 seasons.
Minnesota is exploring options following the departure of Sam Darnold, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks after leading the Vikings to a 14-3 record last season. Daniel Jones also left in free agency, opting to sign with the Indianapolis Colts.
Aaron Rodgers was interested in joining the Vikings, but the club reportedly isn't pursuing the four-time MVP.
J.J. McCarthy is in line to start for the team next season after missing his rookie season with a knee injury sustained during the preseason.
