Report: Titans cancel private workout with Shedeur Sanders
After Colorado's pro day, the Tennessee Titans and quarterback Shedeur Sanders agreed to cancel their private workout that had been scheduled for Wednesday, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt.
The Titans have reviewed four years of game film and have observed Sanders in-person during multiple games and his pro day to have a better understanding of the 23-year-old as a prospect, Wyatt reported.
Tennessee, which holds the first overall pick in the NFL draft, was among several teams on hand Friday for the Buffaloes' "We Ain't Hard 2 Find" showcase that was headlined by the talented QB and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
Sanders appeared to have left a favorable impression on the Titans' brass after his workout.
"Shedeur threw the ball well, and we got to see him out there with Travis. ... It was good to see Shedeur go through the whole workout, and the two-minute drill after," general manager Mike Borgonzi said Friday. "It just confirms a lot of stuff you saw on tape – he can drive the deep ball, you saw that here today."
Sanders is in contention alongside Cam Ward to be the first quarterback selected later this month. While a workout with the Titans is off the table, Sanders is expected to hold a private session with the Cleveland Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Sanders' father and Colorado's head coach Deion Sanders has predicted his son or Hunter will be taken second overall by the Browns based on a conversation he had with owner Jimmy Haslam.
The 6-foot-1, 212-pound Sanders rose to prominence in 2021 after committing to Jackson State where his father coached. Shedeur followed his Hall of Fame cornerback dad to Colorado in 2023.
Sanders passed for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and led the nation with a 74% completion rate last season.
