What the odds say: Who will end Sanders' slide?

To the surprise of many, Shedeur Sanders did not hear his name called during Thursday's first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders was the favorite to be the first player selected until Cam Ward emerged as the Titans' top choice. But the polarizing prospect wasn't even the second quarterback to be drafted, either, as the Giants traded back into the first round to select Jaxson Dart.

So who will end Sanders' slide?

The Browns, who have two of the first four picks in the second round, are the heavy -300 favorites to take Sanders at theScore Bet/ESPN Bet. Cleveland has been linked to Sanders throughout the draft process, but that was mainly because it owned the second overall pick before trading down. The trade allowed the Jaguars to select Sanders' college teammate and Heisman winner, Travis Hunter, at No. 2.

Sanders is -145 (59.2% implied probability) to be the 33rd overall pick, currently owned by the Browns.

Odds to draft Sanders

Team (R2 Picks) Odds
Browns (33 & 36) -300
Raiders (37) +350
Saints (40) +800
Rams (46) +900
Steelers (N/A) +900
Jets (42) +1100
Cowboys (44) +1800
Seahawks (50) +2800
49ers (43) +4500

The Raiders are also in the running. They had the sixth pick in Round 1 but selected Ashton Jeanty, who is widely considered the best running back prospect since Saquon Barkley. Las Vegas traded for Geno Smith in the offseason, so Sanders would likely sit on the sidelines for a couple of years if he were to end up in black and silver.

The Saints passed on Sanders with the ninth pick Thursday, electing to go with offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. instead. New Orleans still has a need at quarterback, but Sanders may not fall to pick 40.

Pittsburgh was also a potential first-round landing spot for Sanders at 21st overall, but the Steelers took defensive tackle Derrick Harmon instead of addressing their quarterback situation. They don't have a second-round pick, so they would likely need to trade up to pluck Sanders or hope he continues to fall until their next selection in Round 3 at pick No. 83.
