Star pass-rusher Micah Parsons plans to attend the Dallas Cowboys' mandatory minicamp that will be held June 10-12 while the two sides continue to discuss a contract extension.
"I will be there!" Parsons posted Tuesday on X. "I haven't missed a minicamp in (four) years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook!
"I'm preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it's in the owner's hands. I'm ready to win a Super Bowl!"
Co-owner and COO Stephen Jones didn't provide much of an update on negotiations.
"No different than anything else, I'll let you know when it happens," Jones said.
The two-time first-team All-Pro is entering the final year of his rookie contract and will earn $24 million, according to Over the Cap. Parsons has made a few appearances during OTAs amid contract discussions.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer shared he has been in communication with Parsons and appreciates how the star has handled himself.
"Micah and I talked a couple of days ago. He's doing a little bit of traveling, but again, everything that he and I talked about, I expect that he will be here," Schottenheimer said. "Micah and I have had great communication, everything I've asked him to do and vice versa he's followed through on."
Parsons previously refuted the notion that he needs to be the highest-paid player at his position. However, his stance changed somewhat after fellow defensive standouts Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby signed lucrative new deals that reset the market.
"You see guys that are older than you, and you can say that your production and versatility matches what they're doing. And I would say that I'm more in my prime than a lot of these other guys that are in the second half of their careers," Parson told reporters in May, including DLLS Sports.
Parsons has established himself as one of the league's most productive edge rushers since Dallas drafted him in 2021. The four-time Pro Bowler has recorded 112 quarterback hits, 63 tackles for loss, and 52.5 sacks over four seasons.
