Report: Chiefs signing Karlaftis to 4-year, $93M deal
The Kansas City Chiefs are signing defensive end George Karlaftis to a four-year, $93-million extension that includes $62 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The deal locks up Karlaftis through the 2030 season. He's been with the Chiefs since they drafted him 30th overall in 2022.
Karlaftis suited up in 16 regular-season games last season, recording 37 tackles, eight sacks, and a career-high 28 quarterback hits. His 49 pressures ranked second on the team behind star defensive tackle Chris Jones, according to Next Gen Stats.
The pact marks the second lucrative contract Kansas City has dished out this week after signing guard Trey Smith to a four-year, $92-million extension.
Karlaftis, 24, has 115 tackles and 24.5 sacks in 49 career contests.
