Rams' Nacua out vs. Jaguars due to ankle injury
The Los Angeles Rams ruled star receiver Puka Nacua out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London due to an ankle sprain, head coach Sean McVay announced Friday, according to ESPN.
Nacua was injured in the Rams' 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens while attempting to make a catch. He returned to the game in the second half but was not targeted for the remainder of the contest.
The Rams were encouraged that Nacua's injury wouldn't be a long-term issue following scans of his ankle. He didn't participate in Wednesday's or Thursday's practice sessions at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
The BYU product has been electric this season. Nacua entered Week 7 leading the league in receptions with 54 and second in receiving yards with 616.
Nacua will have two weeks to rehab his injury with the Rams' bye taking place after their trip across the pond. The club's next game is against the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 2.
Davante Adams could see more targets with Nacua sidelined this week. Jordan Whittington, Tyler Higbee, and Kyren Williams could also benefit from more looks in the passing game, and wide receiver Tutu Atwell could be a factor as well despite battling through a hamstring injury.
