Report: Eagles not expected to trade Brown before deadline
The Philadelphia Eagles aren't expected to deal wide receiver A.J. Brown before the Nov. 4 trade deadline, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Teams have shown interest in acquiring Brown, but the Eagles aren't looking to move him, Schefter adds.
Brown is under contract through the 2029 season, and a trade would result in Philadelphia eating a $40-plus million dead cap hit in 2026, according to Spotrac.
The 28-year-old had a season-high 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Brown posted a picture on Instagram with a caption reading, "Using me but not using me," after the game, sparking speculation whether it was directed at anyone in the Eagles' building. The wideout has expressed frustration with the team's offense on multiple occasions over the last year.
Philadelphia ruled Brown out of Sunday's contest against the New York Giants due to a hamstring injury. However, there's a chance the veteran could return for the Eagles' Nov. 10 matchup versus the Green Bay Packers following their bye week, according to Schefter.
The three-time second-team All-Pro has 29 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns in six games this season.
