The Dallas Cowboys benched wideouts CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens for the first offensive series of Monday's win over the Las Vegas Raiders after the tandem missed curfew, Lamb said Thursday, according to The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins.
The wide receivers had dinner and drinks at the Red Rock Casino, Lamb added. He denied a rumor circulating on social media that he was throwing up at the casino, saying he knows how to hold his liquor.
Lamb and Pickens were sidelined for the first drive of the game, which resulted in a three-and-out. Receivers Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, and Jalen Tolbert started the game for Dallas.
Despite the early benching, Lamb and Pickens made a massive impact on the game. They recorded a combined 14 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-16 victory. Quarterback Dak Prescott had one of his best outings of the season, throwing for 268 yards and four scores.
Lamb and Pickens have been the recipients of 56.6% of Prescott's passing yards this year. The Cowboys' offense ranks fifth in EPA/play, according to Ben Baldwin's database.
Dallas, which sits 4-5-1 and continues to fight for a playoff spot, will face off against the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
