Report: Patriots release WR Collie

Wide receiver Austin Collie (knee) was released by the New England Patriots on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com reports.

The Patriots took a flier on Collie last month, but he played a minimal role in his four games with the club and a knee injury, suffered Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, will end the business partnership. His lengthy injury history will likely shy most teams away from Collie.
