Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman declined to give a specific answer when asked Thursday whether the team would be open to trading disgruntled wideout A.J. Brown this offseason.

"It's hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J.'s a great player," Roseman said, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "That's what we're going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the draft, is trying to find great players who love football, and he's that guy. So that would be my answer."

Speculation regarding Brown's future in Philadelphia became a hot topic this season. He took a subtle shot at the offense through a cryptic social media post in September and vented about his role in the offense during an online stream in November. He reportedly met with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie in November to hash out his frustrations with the offense.

Head coach Nick Sirianni downplayed a heated exchange with Brown during the Eagles' season-ending loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Sirinanni said afterward that he was telling his star wide receiver to get off the field to avoid a penalty.

Brown declined to be interviewed after the game. He has not spoken with media members since the Eagles' 22-19 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 8.

The Ole Miss product finished his 2025 campaign catching 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It was his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.

The Eagles signed Brown to a three-year, $92-million extension in April 2024. Moving on from the talented receiver could hamper the club's salary cap in 2026.

The three-time Pro Bowler remains under contract with the Eagles through the 2029 season and has $113 million remaining on his current deal. Philadelphia would be on the hook for $43.5 million if Brown is traded prior to June 1, per Over the Cap. A post-June 1 trade would create nearly $7 million in cap space.

Brown is set to earn $23 million if he remains with the Eagles for the 2026 season.
