Report: Packers, Doubs unlikely to reach deal before WR hits free agency
Wide receiver Romeo Doubs plans to test the open market and is unlikely to reach a new deal with Green Bay Packers before free agency opens, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Green Bay and Doubs have failed to come to an agreement on a new contract after multiple discussions, Fowler adds.
The Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers have reportedly been closely monitoring Doubs' market. They are expected to be among several suitors for the wideout when the tampering window opens Monday.
Doubs has been with the Packers since they selected him in the fourth round of the 2022 draft. The Nevada product led the team in targets (85), receptions (55), receiving yards (724), and receiving touchdowns (6) last season. He's played in 59 games across four seasons, totaling 2,424 yards and 21 scores.
The 25-year-old is set to hit the open market for the first time in his career. Teams can begin negotiating with free agents at 12:00 p.m. ET on March 9.
