Report: Eagles re-sign Goedert to 1-year deal
The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed tight end Dallas Goedert to a one-year deal, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Goedert was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but Philly and the veteran recently agreed to push the void date on his contract back until Monday, according to The Athletic's Zach Berman.
The Eagles would've eaten a $20-million dead cap hit in 2026 if Goedert didn't re-sign. The new deal allows Philly to push the dead money into future years.
Goedert recorded 60 receptions for 591 yards on 82 targets last season, and his 11 touchdowns were tied with Trey McBride for the most among tight ends in the league.
The 31-year-old has been with the Eagles since being drafted in the second round in 2018 and will enter his ninth season with the team. The South Dakota State product's 409 career receptions rank fifth in franchise history.
