Brett Favre coaches team to high school state title

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is filling his time away from football with.... more football.

Favre has been the offensive coordinator of Oak Grove High School in Mississippi for the past two seasons and helped the team to a 6A state title last week.

Favre spoke to the Associated Press and compared the win to his Super Bowl victory 16 years ago.

"I can't say it's a Super Bowl, but it's pretty close," Favre told The Associated Press after Friday's 14-7 win over Tupelo gave Oak Grove the Mississippi 6A state title. "It really is. It's a different kind of feeling, but I'm awfully proud of these kids."

Favre gave credit to the special teams coach who called a fake field goal during the third quarter that helped Oak Grove to the championship.

"That was all the special teams' coach," Favre said. "I don't call trick plays."
