Brandon Stokley retires after 15 NFL seasons

Veteran NFL receiver Brandon Stokley has decided to retire at the conclusion of the 2013 season, per Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Stokley, one of just 18 wide-outs in league history to play 15 NFL seasons, will not have the opportunity to bid farewell on the football field, after a concussion sustained earlier this month put an end to an injury-laden farewell season.

Although Stokley, who believes he could find employment next season, won't go out in pads, he, unlike many, was afforded the luxury of making the decision for himself, and his family.

"I'm glad I played this year because now I know I'm done. Had I not played this year I would have always felt I could have kept playing. I still know I can play but my body just can't go through it anymore."

The former Raven, Colt, Bronco, Seahawk, and Giant accumulated 5339 career yards on 397 receptions, and scored 39 touchdowns.
