PHI 24, DAL 22: McCoy, Foles lift Eagles to NFC East title

The Philadelphia Eagles edged the Dallas Cowboys 24-22 Sunday night to clinch the NFC East title and earn the right to host New Orleans in the first round of the playoffs next Saturday night.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Eagles running back LeSean McCoy rushed for 131 yards yards on 27 carries to solidify his position as the league's leading rusher (1,607 yards) this season. He also made the most of his one reception, rumbling three yards for a touchdown.
  • Eagles quarterback Nick Foles turned in another strong outing when it counted most, finishing 17-of-26 for 263 yards and two touchdowns. Philadelphia broke the franchise single-season passing yards record (4,380 yards) late in the game.
  • Kyle Orton filled in admirably for the injured Tony Romo, finishing 30-of-46 for 358 yards with two touchdown and two interceptions. Orton had a chance to engineer a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter but he was picked off by Brandon Boykin.
