Texans owner McNair on Jadeveon Clowney: He's a 'once in every 10 years kind of physical specimen'
Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has the strategic advantage of owning the first-overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and had nothing but praise for top prospect Jadeveon Clowney out of South Carolina on Tuesday.
"He's one of these players who's a once in every 10 years kind of physical specimen that comes along," McNair, who is a South Carolina alum, told the team's official website. "Mario Williams was that way. I think Clowney is actually a better athlete than Mario."
The Texans took Williams with the first pick in the 2006 draft and have a history of drafting top defensive players.
McNair has already primed 2011 first-rounder J.J. Watt of potentially drafting Clowney.
"I said, 'J.J., I don't know what will happen, but if we get Clowney, we want you to instill in him the same kind of work habits that you have.'"
Watt replied, "If he's still in the same room with me, then he'll have them."
