Report: Cowboys want DT Jason Hatcher, DE Anthony Spencer back for 2014
The Dallas Cowboys have contacted the agent for defensive linemen Jason Hatcher and Anthony Spencer about retaining their services for the 2014 season.
Hatcher had a cap hit of $2.6 million in 2013 while Spencer came in much higher at $10.6 million. Hatcher should be in for a big pay raise after amassing a career-high 11 sacks and 48 tackles last season. Spencer is rehabbing from a major knee surgery and won't be back to full speed until training camp.
The Cowboys roughly have $20 million in cap space this season, making it highly unlikely they'll be able to re-sign both players on top of other needs and the signing of potential draft picks.
